Rick Grant's "Greatest Hits Vol.2" review!!!
Written by thom

By Rick Grant Review of "Greatest Hits Vol.2

Blistur - Rick at NightThe last time I crossed paths with Blistur was at the Sun Dog about six months ago. At the time, the modern rock band was recording its much anticipated new CD Greatest Hits Vol II in Atlanta. I was impressed with the group's mostly all original songs which meld modern rock with nouveau acid rock, cleverly arranged with the heavy guitar overload. This power trio stitches together many rock genres into its hell-hath-no-fury sound.

Now I have a copy of the CD and after listening to it–all 19 cuts-- it exceeded my wildest expectations. It is one of the most impressive modern rock debuts in recent memory. The record is intelligently mixed with every nuance of the trio’s exemplary musicianship carefully injected into the spectrum. In other words, I could hear every sound on the CD, which includes Neal Gupton’s exceptional drumming, Chris Killam’s wall-of-sound guitar work, and Bart Hammond’s thunderous bass playing with the group’s perfectly mixed vocals. Amazingly, I could hear every word of the lyrics. Read on or go to Rick's website HERE!!!!

CD Release was a blast!
Written by Chris

Blistur's release party for "Greatest Hits Vol 2" was a blast!
We want to thank all of you Blistur Nation fans for making the show a success. We had fun as "Token Blonde" opened the show for us, THEY ROCK! We gave away all kinds of stuff ranging from koozies and stickers to T-Shirts and a RED STRAT that long time band fan Crystal won! She has been a fan since Bart and Chris had the band "Out Of Order". We really appreciate the support!

We got to play an hours worth of Blistur original music for our hungry fans and boy did we have fun! We are ready for the next big show that will take place at The Jacksonville Landing for the Florida State / Alabama college football post game party for around 5000 people.

Be sure and check out our Blistur Store and download the whole CD (or order hard copy) or just individual songs, as well as T-Shirts! More merchandise will be available soon (ringtones ect...)

Keep checking back for news and updates and once again THANK YOU!

Chris

A mix of pop sensibilities and HEAVY ROCK Local musician a member of Jacksonville band Blistur By DOUGLAS JORDAN | More by this reporter | Compass Correspondent | Posted: Friday, June 29, 2007 ; Updated: 10:35 AM on Friday, June 29, 2007

Just when it seems all the genres have been explored, blended, stretched and regurgitated to the point where nothing sounds innovative anymore, along comes a band that deftly samples a variety of styles, and yet brings forth a fresh sound and attitude that reaffirms rock music's ability to constantly reinvent itself.

Jacksonville's Blistur is such a band.
The trio will perform tonight at Jacksonville's Florida Theatre, as part of JAXROX, a showcase of local rock acts benefiting Body & Soul, a non-profit organization that uses the arts to help area healthcare institutions.

Blistur rocks the house!
Written by Chris

Blistur signBlistur headlined and rocked the house last night @ The Florida Theatre! It was a Blisturing set as the band churned out 45 minutes of hard hitting Blistur music. The show was a success as adoring fans were able to get right at the front of the stage and scream for their favorite Blistur song. Much appreciation to all that showed up and for the staff @ the FT (excellent attitudes and professionalism). The concert was a benefit for the Body and Soul charity foundation.
